Frost coats the morning grass at Doi Inthanon on Monday. CHEEWIN SATTHAFrost, the first of the season, covered portions of Chiang Mai's Doi Inthanon National Park in Chom Thong district and Kiew Mae Pan, a popular scenic lookout. Roong Hirunwong, chief of the Doi Inthanon National Park, said frost rimmed the grass along both sides of the road to the park between kilometre markers 42-47, giving tourists a stunning view. While it was 4°C on the mountain top, bringing mae khaning (frozen dew), the temperature was even lower at 3°C at Kiew Mae Pan, where there was moey khab (hoar frost). The mercury at the office of the Doi Inthanon National Park registered a low of 11°C this morning.
